Background: Michael studied zoology and anthropology at the University of Vienna, with a focus on human ethology. From 1992 to 1998 he participated in research projects at the Ludwig-Boltzman Institute for Urban Ethology. Between 1997 and 2001 he worked as entrepreneur and consultant in the field of user interface design and usability engineering. Before joining the team in 2004 he was founder and managing director of digitalMankind GmbH, a technology start-up, located in Vienna.

At CURE, Michael's main focus is on user centred design, web user interfaces and applications, strategic usability and user experience as well as the development of methods and services.
